German Christmas Markets xXx
Once again, sorry I haven't posted for a while, but on Saturday, I went on a short notice trip to Cologne in Germany to visit my family and, because of the season, the plentiful Christmas markets were brimming with foods, decorations and beautiful lighting so I thought I would share some of my pictures with you!
The main markets I visited were the one outside the ' Kölner Dom' (Cologne Cathedral) as well as the one in Neumarkt. However my mum and I did also visit a few others. I would really recommend you visit a German Christmas market at some point in your life. There are so many sights and smells which are so similar and yet so different to our markets and they look so beautiful, especially in the evening when the lights are on. In my opinion, the best lighting was in Neumarkt because the trees were strewn with these star shaped lanterns so they hung above you in the near darkness of the sky. It gave the place a really magical feeling. At the Dom (pictures left) there was a huge, and I mean huge, net of lights over the inner most stalls around the Christmas tree so when you look up, the sky appears to filled with stars. The tree itself was also covered in lights. Mulled wine and eggnog was also a common appearance in every market.
Please comment leaving suggestions on how to improve my reviews/posts xXx
